Recently, Asian countries have been stepping up their energy transition. However, the region's deep reliance on fossil fuels and preference for low-cost energy have brought a series of challenges to policymakers and enterprises. At the Asia Energy Conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 16th to 18th, energy industry leaders from Asia and the Middle East pointed out that the energy transition in Asia requires both a practical approach and accelerated change, especially avoiding extremes on the issue of fossil energy and achieving a balance.
